Great you should have successfully started your own topic and navigated your way to a new "thread".
a "thread" is forums lingo for a topic.
Now we will learn how to reply to a topic that has been started by someone else.
Since we are building a community we can begin by welcoming each other to this discussion forum.
If at the time you are reading this no one else has posted yet, you can "welcome" me to the forums...once others start posting there will be others you may want to welcome...
Be sure to stop by here and welcome new users. We can all help set the tone of being gracious hosts by taking a few moments to say "Welcome Aboard! ... YARR!"
So to begin the lesson of adding your reply or response to another topic follow these steps.
1. return to the section "New to the forums? START by clicking here!" 2. Choose one of the "checking in" topics such as "Shane checking in" and click it. 3. After you have read the contents of this topic click the "Reply" button 4. The default "subject" will be RE: (the title of the topic) so in this case it would be "RE: Shane checking in" you may change it if you wish to, though in my experience many people do not read the "reply subjects" since most are always the default. 5. Type in something like "Welcome aboard! ye scurvy dog!" 6. Click the "Submit" button.
For the third lesson we will uncover the secrets of voting in the polls!
Go back to the main section for "New to the forums? START by clicking here!" and choose "Third lesson"
